The Rangitoto College 7th Form (Year 13) official school ball was held.  Students were not allowed to pay to go to another fuction were alcohol would be served to minors (under 18 years old).  About 150 people did though and the principal (Mrs Mullins) was very angry that people did that although she had specifically told them not to.  Mrs Mullins therefore has to punish those who did go to the afterball by some means which she did not reveal.  She threatened canceling the 6th form ball, and said that she will leave it up to the Board of Trustee's.  30 6th formers attended the afterball.  That would be a big deterent for the students next year.  I personally doubt the 6th form ball will be canceled due to the fact that I think someone is making a lot of money out of it, as the tickets cost $50 each and about 400 people attended.  Unless the cost of balloons are very high I would expect over $10000 profit from the event.  Apparently one of the staff attended the afterball which did not set a good example.  He has been given the sack.
